JAPANESE EMBASSY VISIT TO THE INSTITUTE

 

The team from the Japanese Embassy visited the Institute to discuss a possible partnership with the institute on ways of promoting Women development across the country.

 

On ground to receive them was the chairperson of the Institute Amb Dr Kema Chikwe who briefed the team on the various laudable programs of the Institute and a gave a comprehensive overview of the proposed first African women leadership ICT Resource centre which will serve as an an intellectual resource hub for women across the continent.

 

She explained that the project will fast track the inclusiveness of women in the global market as it relate to trade, commerce and investment.

 

She further stressed that the world is becoming a global village and there was a need to institutionalize a rapid development mechanism that will help more women become computer literates.

 

The team promised to work with the institute on this and other programs and projects designed by the institute.

NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORP (NYSC) VISIT TO THE INSTITUTE.

 

VISIT TO THE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY NIGERIA.

 

WLI had a courtesy call with the federal ministry of science and technology ahead of government support in respect to our proposed African women ICT Resource centre.

 

Information and communication technologies (ICTs), which include the internet, computers, and mobile phones, have great potential to empower women worldwide.

 

ICTs provide access to training and market information that can help women's businesses succeed.

 

Through ICT women are getting security, awareness, knowledge, employments, confidence, popularity etc.

JAPANESE EMBASSY VISIT TO THE INSTITUTE

 

The Women Leadership Institute led by it's Founder and chairperson Amb.Dr. Kema Chikwe was on a courtesy call to the Managing Director of the Nigerian Export Import Bank (NEXIM) Bank.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ways the both organizations could work together to achieve a possible partnership that will give birth to a more robust economic development plan for women across the country.

The bank's managing director who was ably represented by the Executive Director Business Development applauded the efforts of Dr Kema Chikwe in setting up a world class citadel of learning for African women.

 

She commended her giant strides in the area of  human capital development of women across the country and praised her immensely for her achievement in the various public offices she has occupied.

 

She pledged the support of the bank to the programs and projects of the Institute while assuring the team that the MD is gender friendly and supportive.

Dr Kema Chikwe had earlier introduced the institute, it's programs and projects to the host and commended the managing director for giving women in the bank a platform to excel.

She described him as an asset to women across the country and a gender friendly leader.

She solicited the bank's support in sponsoring women to attend it's various masterclasses and to also provide women who have been trained and certified access to credit.

 

She advised the Managing Director to invest extensively in the intellectual development of female staffs in the bank if optimal result must be achieved.
