With a network of experienced professionals in Nigeria and across Africa, we partner with individuals, organizations and local communities to embolden actions towards helping women develop  their leadership capacity and to take constructive roles in the continent. 

Ongoing, it is relevant for us to look ahead and beyond, promote goals and drive home life term solutions to women through vocational training, executive leadership programmes, customized leadership interventions and classroom based courses in three categories: Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Leadership courses.

Job Brief:

WLI is looking for a Program Manager –Internship to organize and coordinate the organization’s programmes. You will oversee progress of operations, monitor programmes and promote the culture of the organization.

Person Specification - The ideal candidate will possess effective leadership skills, interpersonal and communication skills. He/she will have good knowledge of procurement processes, be able to budget, allocate resources, possess techniques for planning, controlling and monitoring.  He/she will also be able to command respect and work with other team members. To be successful in this role, the candidate will fully understand and uphold WLI’s policies to ensure yielding delivery of functions.

Qualification- Degree in Arts/ Humanities (Psychology, Sociology, Economics, English, Human Resources etc. ) or any other relevant field. Master’s Degree and Foreign Language is an added advantage

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative functions:

  1. Prompt  and courteous reception and fair treatment to visitors and staff

  2. Ensure all statutory compliances are up to date and filly complied with 

  3. Responsible for the day to day management of the office facilities.

  4. Custodian of employee records and ensure regular updates

  5. Manage business travels and arrangements - travel documents, work permits, passport renewals, and all required clearances and facilitate visas when needed.

  6. Meet logistical requirements such as hotel reservations, payment of  bills, obtaining and delivering documents to internal and external parties

  7. Draft letters, policies, correspondences 

  8. Liaise with relevant individuals to schedule meetings, prepare agendas and take minutes at meetings

  9. Assist, to training staff on WLI policies


Program functions:

  1. Assist in designing curriculums that support and align with the organization’s mission and goals

  2. Support in establishing fundraising and development goals, identifying potential donors and sources of funding

  3. Work with the team on branding WLI projects to improve values  of the organization

  4. Contribute in forecasting special events that publicize WLI and its plans to the beneficiaries

  5. May assist in the development of grants applications or proposals

  6. Maintain, develop content and update information on WLI website

  7. Conceptualize initiatives to drive goals and objectives forward

  8. Act as an all-round trouble shooter, and resolve issues whenever they arise 


 HR Functions 

  1. Assist with recruitment and selection, 

  2. Generate employment letters and other forms of communication to staff 

  3. Support on-boarding and induction, 

  4. Communicate management principles/ employee handbook, 

  5. Manage staff performance  and employee relations, 

  6. Assist in managing termination/ resignation/ summary dismissal/hold exit interviews.

  7. Develop and update the organization’s organogram and SOPs in line with up to date standards 


Procurement functions: 

  1. Working with approved budget, coordinate all procurement activities

  2. Collect quotations and bids from vendors, interact with vendors and ensure that they use the provided forms.

  3. Guarantee the confidentiality of all specifications and price quotations made by vendors or suppliers

  4. Ensure that the required documentation for transactions and purchases are duly completed by concerned parties

  5. Assist with asset management, monitor, maintain and update all assets 

  6. Candidate will conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in a manner to bring credit to WLI and not to endanger its mission.

  7.Event Management

Plan and manage logistical arrangements for approximately institute events: catering, meeting and exhibit space, programming, audiovisual, set-up, signage, special needs requirements, event security, accommodations, transportation and other arrangements as needed.

  •  Manage keynote speakers and session presenters.

  •  Manage event planning committees.

  •  Manage administrative aspects of event registration.

  • Negotiate contracts with such service providers and suppliers as hotels, meeting venues, caterers, photographers, production companies and speakers for seminars

  • Maintain records of event aspects, including financial details.

  • Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports to staff for each event project.
